My Story

I am a Music Psychotherapist, with both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Music Therapy. I love to sing, jam on the guitar, and play the piano. I also find drumming very freeing... I am especially fond of the Ocean Drum.

I received my Undergraduate Bachelors in Science at Molloy College and my Masters of Arts at New York University. I have had a variety of clinical experience in working with children and their families. This includes exposure within integrated pre-schools, therapeutic nursery schools, high schools, schools for developmentally disabled young adults, community centers, long-term pediatric residential centers, inpatient pediatrics in the hospital setting (within cardiac, epilepsy, intensive care, oncology, and general care units), and an outpatient pediatric clinic for cancer and blood disorders.

I have always loved working with children and their families. Yes, some of the work which I have experienced in the past has been emotional, but also insightful. Music always had a way of deepening, lightening, or providing relief in these situations. During my last music therapist role in inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, music therapy was an outlet for patients to express oneself during high stress moments. Therapeutic interaction and musical ideas, found a path for children to spend time with their families/caregivers in a different and eye-opening way. One might say the work was draining, but I would call it invigorating and rewarding.

I am so glad to have stood by these families, as they strengthened their bond together and were able to embrace their situation even through some of the most challenging moments.
